What does a compass tell you about what is happening in the wires?

Our consensus was:

1. Compass deflection indicates activity in wires
2. Activity only occurs when bulbs are lit
3. Amount of activity is the same in all wires
4. Direction of deflection is the same in all wires
5. Battery determines the direction of the deflection

Two new terms:  CHARGE is the stuff moving in the wires, CONVENTIONAL CHARGE FLOW (CURRENT) moves from the positive terminal of the battery around the loop to the negative terminal
