Our consensus was that
- Certain objects (usually metal) allow test bulbs to light (conductors)
- Other objects do not allow the bulbs to light (insulators)
- Closed loops are made of conducting materials
In the next activity, we took a VERY CLOSE LOOK at light bulbs and sockets to figure out just how they work, and which parts were conductors and insulators
Our consensus was that the conductive parts were CLIPS, PLATES, THREAD, TIP
insulators were BASE, GLASS, BLACK RING
Two more terms we need to know were a CONTINUOUS CONDUCTING PATH is an unbroken path of conductors, and a CIRCUIT is a continuous conducting path with a BATTERY.
