Twisting in the Wind

Now that you're well on your way to becoming experts about conservation of angular momentum, moments of inertia, and centers of mass, (and snowboarding/ice skating tricks) let's go a little farther...

This week, we're going to learn how to use physics to best use a hammer, wrench, and an electric drill.  You'll also make a better playground see-saw, and perfect your balancing acts in the process!

First, you'll be doing some investigations of the physics of twistiness (what's the word?), and then you'll use Algodoo to build a virtual see-saw.
